As we can see in this tutorial, disassembling the tank on the BMW R1200 RT is an extremely simple and fast operation. First of all, we remove the driver's seat, then we unscrew the four indicated fixing bolts, paying attention to their position, as two of them are different from the others. Once this is done, we extract the two metal cylinders from the newly freed holes, remove the tank cap, and by pulling it upwards and backwards, we separate it from the frame. Finally, we disconnect both the pump connector and the fuel pipe, and install the replacement if necessary.

In order to reset the Aprilia Shiver Service warning light, the instrument panel must be turned on, so that the menu can be accessed: by moving the controls to the right of the steering wheel, it will be possible to select the "Diagnostics" item. Then you will have to enter the code 12390 to access the Diagnostics menu: at this point, by selecting "Coupons reset" a confirmation screen will appear. By selecting "Yes" it will be possible to reset the maintenance intervals; once this operation has been completed, it will be possible to switch the ignition off and on again to check it.
