As shown in this tutorial, dismantling the fuel tank on the BMW R1200 RT is an extremely simple and quick operation. First, remove the rider's seat, then unscrew the four fixing bolts indicated, taking care of their position, as two of them are different from each other. Once done, extract the two metal cylinders from the holes just freed, remove the fuel tank cap, and by pulling it upwards and towards the rear, separate it from the frame. Finally, disconnect both the pump connector and the fuel hose and fit any replacement part.
