How do you replace the battery of the BMW R 1250 GS remote control?

In order to replace the battery of the BMW R 1250 GS remote control, you need to extract the key from inside its housing, so that you can leverage it inside its slot: this will allow you to detach the cover on the back of the device, so that the battery inside can be removed. Once the old battery has been removed from its housing, you can insert the new one inside its slot, covering everything with the lid. At this point, you can use the remote control to verify that everything is functioning correctly.
