In this tutorial, learn how to replace the battery in a BMW R1200 GS, a very simple and quick operation. Before proceeding, ensure the key is not in the ignition for safety.

Start by positioning yourself on the right side of the bike, then locate the indicated plastic panel and remove it from the frame by unscrewing the securing screw. Next, detach the rubber strap, remove the secondary panel, and disconnect both terminals, starting with the negative.

At this point, simply extract the old battery, insert the replacement, and follow the reverse procedure.

Vespa Immobiliser: How to Transfer the Chip from the Old Key

In the case shown in the video, the new keys are not recognised by the ECU: the Vespa starts but does not run (thus the immobiliser is active). The solution shown in the video involves locating the immobiliser chip in the old key (the one recognised by the ECU). Open the cover on the key (only red master keys or some blue ones), remove the chip (which is a small black cylinder or rectangle), insert it into the new key in place of the new one, and try to start. Now the key will work. If the master key is red, it will definitely work. If it is blue, it might work: you need to cut the silicone; this is possible but a delicate operation. If it is a black clone key, then it is a system that does not work.
