Front Shock Absorber Replacement

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003

In the engine compartment, use a ratchet to remove the three bolts at the top of the suspension. Loosen the wheel nuts and lift the vehicle, securing it safely. Remove and extract the retaining pins from the arm using a wrench and push them out. Use some penetrating spray to ease the operation. Also disconnect the steering tie rod. Using a wrench and a ratchet, remove the suspension bolts and take out the shock absorber. Remove the entire suspension assembly and clean off any buildup with a wire brush. Replace the faulty shock absorber with a new one, complete with spring and rubber boot. Reinstall the suspension on the vehicle by reversing the steps.
