In this tutorial, you will see how to replace the front shocks on a BMW 5 Series, a task that requires good manual skills. First, lift the side you will be working on, then remove the wheel and unbolt the tie rod end. Next, unbolt the lower control arm, then the sway bar link, and finally the lower shock mount. At this point, move to the engine bay, remove the upper mounting bolts, and take the shock out of the suspension. Follow the reverse procedure to install the replacement.
