BMW Serie 5 - Video tutorial
Model: BMW Serie 5
E39
- Years 1995-2003 There are engines that have the timing chain enclosed in a crankcase and therefore do not need maintenance. Other cars, like this one in the video, most commonly have timing belts. The timing belt is always rotated by the engine through a series of pulleys. The pulleys make the belt slide but, at least one or two of these, it also has the task of keeping the belt at a due tension so as to be able to transmit motion in a regular and precise way. Obviously the pulleys rotate on the ball or roller bearing. In case you hear whistles and hums similar to those heard in the video while accelerating the engine, there is a good chance that the belt tensioner pulley needs to be replaced.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow to reset the on-board computer of the Peugeot 208?Resetting the Peugeot 208's on-board computer, the system called SMEG, is very simple. We can do this in case the system shows signs of malfunction, freezes, or in any other case where a restart could solve the problem. To reboot, simply hold down the two keys located in the lower left corner of the computer at the same time. After a few seconds, the SMEG system display will switch off, the Peugeot logo will appear and the start-up procedure will start. We wait patiently for the restart to complete as it may take some time. by ScegliAuto More videos
