Instructions for Disassembling the Armrest

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Center console tunnel

To remove the armrest, first pull out the rear ashtray located in the center of the center tunnel. Underneath the ashtray, there are two pressure clips with star screws: unscrew the screws and remove the clip to take off the ashtray housing, disconnecting the courtesy light connector. Next, unscrew the other two screws underneath that secure the trim frame of the rear hinges of the armrest. At this point, you can detach the side springs and remove the plastic pins that secure the armrest to complete the disassembly.
