Removing the Front Bumper Cover

To remove the front bumper, place the car on a lift and raise it to a comfortable working height. Remove the two front wheels. To take off the bumper, unscrew the two screws that secure it inside each front fender. Additionally, unscrew four bolts located along the front fascia. Remove the four plastic covers on the sides of the license plate holder and unscrew the two bolts. At the bottom, unscrew the bolts that secure the bumper underneath the vehicle. Finally, unscrew the two bolts that attach the bumper to the frame that holds the radiator. At this point, you can remove the bumper, remembering to disconnect the wires that connect to the headlights. The maintenance operation shown in the images is performed on a BMW X5.
