How do you replace the gear shift knob of the Buick Regal?

In order to replace the gear knob of the Buick Regal, you need to use an object to pry and lift the molding around the gear lever. Once this is lifted, you will need to fully lift the gear shift boot to locate the clamp under the gear knob. By loosening this clamp, you will be able to completely remove the gear knob along with the corresponding leather boot. At this point, you can insert the new gear knob, securing it with the clamp and repositioning the gear lever boot.

After positioning your car on a column lift: raise it to a comfortable height to work on, loosen the wheel nuts (using a socket wrench or air drill) and remove the wheel.
