To replace the shift knob on the Buick Regal, remove the shift boot, which comes off easily as it is press-fit. A small metal seal must be removed from the shift lever; this was the seal for the boot. At this point, the knob will come off easily as well.

You can find the replacement kit on major e-commerce platforms, with prices ranging from $18 to $38. Naturally, if you want chrome, wood, or leather parts, the price increases. Now, simply snap the new piece into place and reinstall the seal under the boot.

The job is done.
