Removal and Replacement of Front Shock Absorbers

Model: Citroen C4 Picasso MK 1 - Years 2006-2013

Place the car on a ramp or lift it with a jack on the side of the affected wheel. Remove the wheel and lubricate the bolts to be undone. After disconnecting the wishbones by undoing the appropriate bolts, also undo the bolts that secure the shock absorber in place (first the bottom, then the top mount). To undo the top bolt, open the bonnet and locate it corresponding to the shock absorber. First, remove the plastic cover near the windscreen by manipulating the various clips that hold it in place. Once the shock absorber is removed, use the appropriate tool to compress the spring so that you can then disassemble the shock absorber. Replace the spring and refit the shock absorber. At this point, you can mount it back onto the car by following the reverse order of the operations performed. The maintenance operation shown in the images was carried out on a Citroën C4 Picasso.
