How to Repair the Cracked Dashboard on the Datsun 280Z

Today, you will learn how to repair the dashboard of the Datsun 280Z. Using a flathead screwdriver and a plastic trim removal tool, remove the dashboard from its location, taking care not to damage the connectors and wires inside. To remove any silicone residue, use a drum sander or a rotary sander. Continue sanding until the surface is completely flat. Next, use a plastic welding tool with a Fiberflex welding nozzle. Insert foam inside and continue welding. Once the surface has cooled, sand it flush with an 80-grit sander. Mix the PADED Dash 20 50 - 9 filler with the cream hardener. Apply a layer across the entire dashboard. Apply a water-based primer and paint the dashboard; then sand with 240 and 320 grit sandpaper. Renew the texture of the dashboard with a spray and proceed to reassemble when the surface is completely dry.
