How to Change the Engine Oil on a Dodge Viper Yourself

On a Dodge Viper, start the oil change by securing the vehicle: work on a flat surface, with the engine off and cool, and lift the car only with appropriate equipment (ramp or properly positioned axle stands). Prepare a large container, as the drainage may be substantial, and protect your hands and eyes. Access the undercarriage and locate the oil drain point. Position the container to catch the flow, then unscrew the drain plug and allow the used oil to drain completely without interruption. When the flow reduces and stops, replace the plug with the correct seal if required and tighten it carefully, avoiding over-tightening the threads. After draining, clean any residues in the area, lower the car, and complete the refill from the top filler using oil that meets your engine's specifications.
