How to Change the Timing Belt on a Fiat Punto

Replace the timing belts at the manufacturer-recommended intervals; here’s how to remove them on a Fiat Punto. Lift the car on a column lift; remove the front wheel and the right wheel arch liner if you have difficulty accessing the belts. Remove the cover panel of the belt (remove the sensor). Using a suitable fixed spanner, loosen the second tensioner and slide the belt off its housing. After installing the new belt, use the fixed spanner to install the tensioner, tightening until the belt has the correct tension (install both belts). Close the belts with the covers.
