Removing the gear knob from the top of the lever to replace it? Start by removing the plastic cover on the knob with a screwdriver, then undo the gear knob using a socket or fixed spanner. Remove the leather gaiter from the edge of the centre tunnel and replace it with a new one (if damaged).

Fit the new gear knob onto the lever and tighten the securing screw with the spanner. Refit the plastic cover on the gear knob.

Conduct a final check to ensure all plastic parts are properly fitted.
