Remove the gear knob on the Fiat Punto? Let's go through the removal process. Use a screwdriver to remove the plastic cover on the knob, then unscrew the gear knob using a socket or spanner.

Remove the leather gaiter from the edge of the centre console using a plastic lever. For reassembly: take the gaiter and fit it onto the rod on the centre console.

Install the new knob and tighten it with the spanner. Attach the plastic cover back onto the gear knob.

If the knob is without a cover: grip it and pull it forcefully from the rod (remove the leather gaiter afterwards).
