To replace the gear knob of the Fiat 500, use a lever tool to detach the upper part of the gear knob. This will allow you to loosen the screw underneath, as well as those securing the plastic panel at the base of the gear lever. This way, the entire gear knob along with the gaiter and the plastic panel at the base can be removed and replaced with new parts. Once the new knob is installed, secure it again with the screw at the top.
