Before you begin, sit in the driver's seat of your Fiat 500. Start by prising off the top cover of the gear knob using a flat screwdriver. Next, unscrew and remove the central bolt that secures the gear knob to the gear lever.

This will free the gear knob. Proceed to pull it off and remove it from the gear lever, completing the dismantling.

To fit the new gear knob, simply follow these steps in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
