Replacing the number plate bulb on this model of car is extremely simple: the respective lamp holders are integrated beneath the chrome strip located just above the number plate, which also houses the rear bonnet release button; therefore, open the bonnet and lift it enough to access the number plate light unit; use a small screwdriver to unclip the cover lens of the light unit and access the bulb holder, which is of the type with a bayonet fitting; then, remove the old bulb and insert the new one (you can also opt for an LED type).

How to Reset the Central Locking of the Volkswagen Golf 4?
