Replacing Convertible Roof and/or Repairing and Replacing Lock

Obtain the original replacement roof. Unclip the roof and fully open it, then open its resting housing and retract it. Move the seats forward for better access to the fixing screws located on the side of the vehicle and unscrew them, removing the cover caps first. Mark the position of the roof sealing plate with a marker to reposition the new one in the same place. Using a ratchet spanner, unscrew the screws of the plate. Proceed on the other side until the roof is completely removed. Position the new roof and secure the plate screws, aligning them with the marks made earlier. Tighten the screws and reposition the door seals. Close the roof to check the correct fastening. If necessary, adjust the position of the plates and tighten the fixing screws fully. Refit the plastic trims. If you only want to replace the covering fabric, remove it completely by cutting the rubber seals along the frame and removing the retaining rivets of the return springs with a drill. Carefully pull the fabric from the frame, gently tearing it at the glued points. Refit the new covering by positioning it on the frame and securing it carefully along the edges. Using a type of adhesive like Bostik and a brush, glue all previously removed parts, secure the various metal subframes, and replace the new seals. Refit the return springs, connecting them to the cable and securing them with new rivets. To replace only the rear glass, simply remove the metal hook of the seal and use a plastic tool to lever at the edges until the glass is completely removed. Position the new glass, first applying the clip of the zip closure. Slide the zip closure around the glass, securing it to the fabric. Lock the clip and hide it under the fabric. Ensure the rubber seal adheres perfectly. To replace the lock, it is necessary to remove the door panel. Remove the key lock by unscrewing the two retaining screws on the side of the door.
