How to change the gear shift knob on a Ford Mustang

In this video we see how to change the gear shift boot on a Ford Mustang: some automatic models have a boot integrated with the lever. We will need a flathead screwdriver, a plastic spatula, fabric glue, and of course the boot that we may have purchased for example on E-Bay with the code 123659533941 at the price of 28.36 euros, free delivery. Remove the old boot by removing the plastic frame, using the spatula to gently lift the frame around the handbrake and the gear shift; unscrew any hidden screws under the floor mats or in the storage compartments: If the boot is attached with clips, detach them with pliers; if it is glued as in the video, heat it slightly with a hair dryer to soften the glue, and then pull it away. Install the new boot: if it does not have the pre-glued ring (like the one in the video) we must remove it from the old one, apply glue on the ring and fix it to the new one, folding the edges underneath; attach the boot to the gear shift lever and reposition the plastic frame.
