To replace the gear knob on a 2016 Ford KA, start by removing the centre console: simply pull it upwards to detach it. Disconnect the electrical connectors (if present). If the leather gaiter is still attached to the console, separate it; in the video, it came off on its own. The most delicate part is removing the plastic clip that secures the knob to the lever. Use a flathead screwdriver to lift the teeth of the clip and turn it until it comes off. The clip often gets damaged, so it's advisable to have a new replacement on hand.
