Replacing the Starter Motor

Model: Ford Transit MK 7 - Years 2006-2014
Part: Starter motor

If the starter motor spins but the engine does not start, the fault lies with the drive mechanism of the starter pinion: when you turn the key to start the engine, a mechanism inside the starter motor pushes out the pinion to engage the flywheel and allow the engine to start; this pinion retracts as soon as you release the key. To remove the starter motor, lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift: the starter is located directly on the gearbox. Once removed, you may find that pulling the pinion does not release it. Proceed to install a new or refurbished starter motor.

How to Replace the Brake Pads on a BMW X3

For this operation, you will need to remove the wheel where you will perform the replacement, so it will be convenient to lift your vehicle and place it on jack stands; this way, you will work much more comfortably. To remove the spring that holds the front pads, use a flathead screwdriver. Now, unscrew the bolts that secure the piston to the pads, then remove it, giving you access to both pads that brake the rotor. Of course, repeat the same steps on the other side if the same replacements are needed.
