A failed starter motor will no longer allow the engine to start. To change it, remove the negative terminal of the battery, identify its correct position and identify the connections that power the starter motor. Once this is done, the starter motor can be removed, also trying to recover the mounting bracket on the back of the starter motor which is not always supplied with the new one.
