How to Change the Hazard Light Switch on a Ford Focus

To replace the hazard light switch on a Ford Focus, work from inside the dashboard by removing the radio from its housing. Use plastic trim tools to avoid damage. Disconnect the two main connectors to pull out the radio, and unscrew the four screws holding the dashboard in place. Carefully remove the dashboard to avoid damage; there are many electrical connectors attached, so take care when detaching them. Optionally, mark them to ensure correct reconnection later. Now that you have extracted the dashboard, unscrew the part where the emergency button is located. Two screws and it comes off. Install the new one (20.00 pounds on eBay), screw in the two screws, and reconnect all the connectors to their places. If marked correctly, you should have no difficulties. Refit the four screws and reconnect the two large radio connectors. Reinstall the radio and the job is done.
