How to Adjust the Handbrake on a Ford B-Max

To adjust the handbrake on a Ford B-Max, get inside the car and notice that under the handbrake there is a nut that you can loosen or unscrew with a 10mm spanner (to find the nut, remove the plastic cover with a flathead screwdriver by inserting it into the handbrake area, lifting it, and sliding it backwards to remove it completely); now check the number of clicks the handbrake lever makes and note that in the video it makes 8 clicks when fully pulled; to correctly adjust the handbrake (which should normally make 5 or 6 clicks), since there are drum brakes at the rear, go directly to the rear by the drums. Remove the wheel, unscrew the screw that holds the drum (you can tell it needs adjusting when the drum comes off easily), near the brake cylinder, there is a metal plate that regulates the handbrake; with a flathead screwdriver, make 5 clicks on the metal plate, check that the drum fits with some resistance, remove the drum, sand the brake shoes and inside the drum; remove rust from the hub and inside the drum, apply copper grease, refit the drum and perform the same operation on the other side. Now go back inside the car, check the clicks the handbrake lever makes and note that it makes 5 when fully pulled; finally, refit the wheels and you can take it for a test drive. This completes the adjustment.
