Instructions for Removing the Boot Lid

To remove the boot lid, it is essential to disconnect all connectors from the various devices to free and pull out the wiring: start by removing the third brake light at the top centre of the boot lid, disconnecting both the power connector and the washer fluid pipe; then pull out the grommet to access the wiring that comes from the headlining to the boot lid itself; remove the plastic cover inside the boot lid and disconnect the connectors for the wiper, the locks, and finally the number plate lights; free the wiring from the various grommets and pull it out to remove the boot lid freely; then disconnect the support struts and unscrew the hinge securing pins: at this stage, it is better to have someone assist you.
