How to Replace the Cabin Fan Resistor on a Ford Focus

If the cabin fan does not activate except at position 4 when adjusting the speed control, it's likely that the resistor regulating the fan speed has failed. The resistor is located near the air duct on the passenger side, behind the glove compartment. Open the glove compartment, press the sides to fully hinge it down, releasing the end stop cable as well. Locate the resistor housing, disconnect the connector, and unscrew the fixing screw to install the new one. Ensure the fan operates at all speeds before reassembling the cover.
