How to Replace the Airbag in Your Car
Model: Ford Fiesta
MK 6, Fiesta 6, MK VI
- Years 2008-2017
The airbag is one of the essential safety accessories and may require replacement over time. Replacing the airbag is not too difficult, and doing it yourself can lead to significant savings. First, gather the necessary tools and screwdrivers for disassembly, and purchase the replacement parts before you start. The first technical step is to remove the steering column cover. Once the steering wheel is removed, go to the engine bay to disconnect any cables that may cause issues. Specifically, locate the engine and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. After that, take the steering column cover and turn it so that the inner side faces you. This will give you a clear view of the two pins that secure the airbag inside, which you will need to work on. Take a suitable-sized flat screwdriver and leverage it against the metal clips inside the two holes. This way, you will only need to remove the old airbag.
