The first step is to position the motorcycle securely and stably for working on it. Next, remove both the gear lever and the footpeg using the appropriate spanners. Once these are removed, gently lift the cover (after unscrewing the bolt near the gear lever that holds it in place) and extract the clip, washer, and finally the oil seal from the gear lever pivot. Check if it needs replacing and proceed to fit the new oil seal, ensuring it is inserted correctly so that the protrusion fits into the base of the pivot. Reassemble all the parts you have removed. Now, drain the old oil from the hole beneath the gearbox. To do this, unscrew the relevant bolt after positioning a bowl directly underneath and removing the oil filler cap. Once finished, replace the bolt and pour new oil into the designated filler hole. That’s it!
