Before you can start, position your Harley Davidson Softail upright, and then run the engine for a few minutes. Begin by unscrewing and removing the lower oil drain plug, and then wait for all the engine oil to drain out. Next, re-screw the drain plug. At this point, unscrew and remove the upper fill cap, then add the new engine oil. Once this step is complete, re-screw the fill cap, and you will have finished the oil change.
