In order to replace the gear knob of the Honda Civic, you will need to use an object like a screwdriver to lever down the leather boot around the selector, where it joins with the knob: once the boot has been lowered, you will need to loosen the screw underneath and also move the chrome button in front of the selector.

Once this operation has been carried out, you will be able to remove the knob from the top of the lever so that it can be completely detached: the new knob can then be inserted, making sure that everything works properly.
