To replace the rear shock absorber on a Honda Civic, lift the vehicle so that the corresponding wheel is not in contact with the ground. Once the vehicle is raised, loosen the wheel fastening bolts and completely remove the wheel to access the components at the rear. You can then unscrew the bolt that secures the shock absorber at the bottom; to loosen the one at the top, open the boot and unscrew it from inside the boot. After removal, install the new replacement part.
