This is a high-level carpentry project and is not suitable for beginners. Before touching anything, take hundreds of photos from all angles and use clear bags to label each screw, clip, and component with its exact position. As shown in the video, glue joints may have crystallised, so they must be detached with a flat screwdriver without damaging the underlying wood. Each piece must be carefully restored, repairing wood cracks, reupholstering old seats, and using the old covers to cut new leather, replacing the padding. Reassembly requires even more patience as everything must be aligned; many specific MK2 components are hard to find, so breaking a hook or clip can take months of searching or require expensive custom parts. This project requires skills in fine carpentry, upholstery, electricity, and mechanics.
