How to Remove the Car Radio from a Jeep Compass

Removing the car radio from a Jeep Compass is a fairly simple task that requires the use of special plastic levers designed for panel removal. Looking at the dashboard, you will notice that the radio is protected by a trim that includes the air vents; this will be clipped in and can be removed by gently prying between the trim and the dashboard along the entire outer perimeter of the trim. Once the trim is removed, you will have access to the four screws that secure the radio to the dashboard; these will be positioned at the four corners of the radio and need to be removed to extract the radio from the dashboard. Now only the power connectors connected to the radio will remain, and you simply need to disconnect them to remove it completely from the vehicle. It is also advisable to have any necessary modifications such as connectors, trims, and facias ready in case you want to install an aftermarket radio or a different one from the original.
