Removing the Gear Shift on a Jeep Renegade

Model: Jeep Renegade 520, MK 1, BU - Years 2014-2026

Using a plastic trim tool (not metal!), lift the lower frame of the gear shift to detach it from its housing. Do this slowly, lifting a small section at a time. While pulling it out, disconnect the connector. If you only want to change the frame, simply separate it from the gaiter using a screwdriver; otherwise, you can replace the entire assembly by pulling it upwards after removing the gear knob. For this, just pull and slightly unscrew the knob with some force to release it from its fitting. Similarly, insert the new knob by firmly securing it into the shaft connection.
