Descriptive guide for changing the engine oil and oil filter of a Kawasaki Z750R from 2008 to 2014. Obtain 4 litres of Motul 7100 10w40 oil, Kawasaki oil filter 16097-0008, and a copper washer with an outer diameter of 20mm and an inner diameter of 13mm, 1mm thick. Position the bike on the rear stand. Start the bike, let it warm up until it reaches 70°C, and then switch off. Place a container for collecting the oil for disposal under the engine. Remove the belly pan if present. On the left side of the bike, unscrew the engine oil drain plug using a ratchet and a 17mm socket. Allow all the oil to drain out. Meanwhile, clean the magnetic plug thoroughly and replace the copper washer. Using an oil filter wrench, unscrew the oil filter located at the front of the engine between the exhaust headers. Lightly oil the gasket of the new filter and screw it on, first by hand, then tighten it a turn with the oil filter wrench. Screw the oil drain plug back in. Open the oil filler cap located on the right side of the engine casing. Pour in three litres of oil first (the manufacturer states 3.8 litres when dry, aim for between 3.3 and 3.8 litres), then add the remaining oil according to the oil level inspection hole located below. Start the bike, let it warm up, and switch off. Once the engine is cool, recheck the oil level with the bike upright on the rear stand.
