To change the engine oil of the Kawasaki KLR 650, loosen the screws securing the bash plate at the bottom of the vehicle: removing this plate will allow you to also remove the drain plug from the oil sump, so that all the used engine oil can be collected in a container. Once it has completely drained, close the plug and refit the plate; then proceed to remove the oil filter from its housing on the right side. When the new one is fitted, top up through the breather located on the right side of the vehicle.
