On the KIA Optima, the fuel door may become stuck, for example, due to a malfunction of the release button or the lock actuator. In these cases, perform the emergency opening of the door by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial.

First, unlock the locks using the remote control, then open the boot and locate the cord on the left wall, about halfway up. Pull the cord towards you to unlock the latch, manually open the fuel door, and refuel.
