How do you adjust the handbrake of the Kia Sportage?

In order to adjust the handbrake of the Kia Sportage, you need to completely remove the panel covering the central tunnel of the car: to do this, you will need to open the glove compartment and loosen the screws holding the panel in place. Once the panel is removed, you will be able to locate the bolt that adjusts the handbrake, and tighten or loosen it as needed. The adjustment can also be done by removing the right rear wheel and the drum underneath, in order to adjust the brake shoes themselves.
