Let's see how to change the battery in a Kia Ceed MK2 petrol: the battery is located on the right side of the engine bay. Start by disconnecting the negative terminal with a 10 mm socket, moving the cable away to avoid accidental reconnections; then disconnect the positive terminal, remove the mounting plate using a 13 mm socket, and take it out. Now you can extract the old battery (which should be disposed of properly at an authorised collection centre).

Prepare the terminals by lightly sanding them with sandpaper to remove any white oxidation, then prepare the new battery, apply copper grease to the terminals to improve contact, position the new battery, and tighten the mounting plate with the socket.

Reconnect the positive terminal, then the negative terminal, and the operation is complete.
