Before you can start, open the front door of your Kia Sportage. Begin by disengaging and removing the panel inserts using a thin but sturdy plastic tool.

Next, unscrew and remove the fixing screws of the door panel. Once you have removed the fixing screws, you will have freed the door panel.

At this point, disengage and remove it from its housing, then disconnect the electrical connector and the handle cable, and the disassembly will be complete.
