Replacing Rear Shock Absorbers

Model: Kia Sportage MK 2, KM - Years 2004-2010

To change the shock absorbers, first raise the vehicle, always observing all safety regulations. Then, start by removing the wheels. After the wheels, disconnect the brake sensor fixed on both sides of the shock absorber mount. Next, undo the stabiliser bar. Now, unbolt the shock absorber from the wheel hub. Move on to the upper mount of the shock absorber located in the boot, covered by a cover that needs to be removed with a thin-bladed tool. Always pay close attention to the position of what you disassemble to avoid difficulties when reassembling or issues during vehicle use. Once the shock absorber assembly is removed from the wheel arch, compress the spring and then remove the actual shock absorber. Now, reposition the new one inside the spring and release the spring, ensuring everything is in its original and correct position. With the help of another person, insert the spring-shock absorber assembly under the wing and bolt the nuts in the boot. At this point, bolt the suspension to the wheel hub, also reattaching the brake sensor. Refit the stabiliser bar and finish by remounting the wheel. Car model: Kia Sportage Year: 2006.
