How to replace the rear shock absorber of the 2015 Kia Sportage

In this video, we see how to change the rear shock absorbers of the 2015 Kia Sportage: we lift the car and remove the wheel, support the lower arm with the jack: we remove the old shock absorber, first loosening the 19mm lower bolt and then the 14mm upper one. We extract the shock absorber and remove the upper plate of the old shock absorber (with a 17mm socket that we will transfer to the new component). We can find the pair of new shock absorbers for example on E-Bay with the code 388061084732 at a price of 81.90 euros, free delivery. We insert it and screw in the upper bolt first, then the lower one without tightening them completely. When they are in position, we tighten them: the upper one to 61 Nm, then the lower one to 156 Nm. We bleed the shock absorber by compressing and releasing it 3/4 times to remove internal air. We can put the wheel back on and move to the other side. On the driver's side, a fender may obstruct access to the bolts: it is the tank cable. We use a flexible ratchet wrench. It is highly recommended to use new bolts!
