It will be possible to completely disassemble the engine of the KTM EXC 450 by unscrewing the screws that secure it to its housing, at the lower central part of the frame: once the fixing screws have been unscrewed, you can proceed by disconnecting the connectors and freeing the intake and exhaust manifolds. At this point, it will be possible to loosen the screws that secure the cylinder in order to remove it from the top of the engine and locate the piston: this can now be detached from the connecting rod to access the crankshaft and all the components that will need to be replaced.
