You can replace the rear shock absorber on the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R by loosening the screws that secure the component to its housing, located between the rear swingarm and the rear mudguard. The screws must be loosened from both the top and bottom of the shock absorber; this will allow you to slide the old shock absorber out of its housing to insert the new one. This can now be properly secured with the screws, and then check its operation.
