At the scheduled maintenance interval for the Kymco Xtown 300, you need to change the engine oil to keep the engine efficient. Place the scooter on the centre stand, unscrew and remove the oil filler cap. Using a ratchet spanner with a 17mm socket, undo the drain plug located under the engine, where you should have placed a container to collect the used oil. Along with the plug, you will find a spring and a mesh filter that you should clean. Once all the old oil has drained, refit the plug with its components, tightening it securely. Pour approximately 0.9 litres of 10W40 synthetic oil into the filler hole using a funnel and check the correct level with the dipstick.
