In this video, we can see an issue with the hybrid Lancia Ypsilon where the hybrid battery charging remains stuck at a certain point, sometimes even at zero or near zero, and consequently, the charging LED does not light up; for example, the YouTuber is going downhill, the needle is stuck, and the charging light does not illuminate, and the same happens during braking; further confirmation is the failure of the start & stop system to activate.

This problem is caused by the auxiliary battery nearing depletion.

This battery is located in the front bonnet and has discharged due to a parasitic drain (a light left on by mistake); after travelling a few miles, the battery recharged, and the system reset itself.

How to Activate the Disabled TRC on the Toyota Yaris?

As the video clearly shows, disabling or activating the traction control (TRC or ESP) on the Toyota Yaris is very simple. By default, the traction system activates every time the vehicle is started. To disable it, simply press the button depicting a skidding car located in the centre of the vehicle where the controls are, such as the hazard lights and the radio, but near the handbrake. Once disabled, the TRC off light will illuminate on the dashboard. To reactivate it, just press the same button again.
