Replacing the battery requires attention and a bit of skill, but it can be done independently without any problems. Before you begin, ensure you have purchased a new battery that is fully compatible. Next, switch off the engine (if it is running). Open the bonnet and loosen the two battery bolts using a ten-millimetre spanner. Disconnect the negative terminal and then the positive terminal. At this point, you also need to remove the securing bracket at the bottom. To do this, unscrew the existing screw. Lift out the old battery and replace it with the new one. Reposition the bracket you removed earlier and reconnect the two terminals, starting with the negative one.
