This article explains how to reset the service light on the Volkswagen Passat using the Launch X431 Smartlink. To reset the light, turn on the ignition and connect the external computer to the OBD port. Once connected, the vehicle will be analysed, and from the settings, you can access the oil light reset menu. Select the vehicle and the production year, then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset procedure. Being guided by the computer during the operation simplifies the reset and automatically updates the mileage for the next service interval. At the end of the procedure, restart the instrument cluster and disconnect the OBD port from the vehicle.
